Close Encounters of the Third Grade Kind:Thoughts on Teacherhood

Phillip Done had done it again! If you read my reviews regularly, you may remember this review that I did for Mr.Done's first book,32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny. His newest book,Close Encounters of the Third Grade Kind,is equally as hilarious with a whole new round of stories that Mr. Done has taken from his 20 years of teaching experience.

Through these wonderfully beautiful stories, the reader can sense the love that Mr.Done has for his work and his students.
I love this book for exactly the same reasons as I wrote for 32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny. So,this review is pretty much a repeat of the first.

There are tales in Close Encounters of the Third Grade Kind that will have you in stitches and there are those tales that will make you wipe a tear from your eye.
This book is a quick read with short chapters which is great when you may only have a few minutes here and there to knock a few pages out.It was mainly a quick read for me because it,just like Mr.Done's previous book,is such a fantastic read, you just can't put it down!

You can find Close Encounters of the Third Grade Kind at Amazon,
Barnes and Noble and Borders

Say It With Style~

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know I love vinyl decals for your home decor needs.Vinyl decals are such a very easy and durable form of decorating that anyone can achieve. They are also extremely easy to take down when you're ready for a change.

Let me show you another provider of vinyl decals that I love.Say It with Style, where you can find the latest styles in vinyl lettering, offers the cutest vinyl decals!

We received our initial (looks just like this one except I chose black)

We applied ours over our fireplace as well and it certainly adds fanciness (is that a word?) to an otherwise mundane spot. It is large and is definitely the focal point of the room.I really love it!

Let me show you just a few of the vinyl choices Say It With Style offers.

Wouldn't this Heaven on Earth phrase look wonderful around a collage of family portraits?

I really love this name vinyl and it would be a perfect addition to anyone's room.

What about all you french loving fans? This Eiffel Tower piece would look great in a french inspired room.

It's that time of year again...weddings all over! This "Just Married" decal not only looks beautiful on the back of a car, there would be no need for a car wash to clean off the mess of the traditional just married signage that you usually see.

I love the 20's so this flapper speaks to me.It's an unusual piece and I really like it.

Hop over to Say It With Style and order something, you won't be disappointed!

Misikko

I have tell you about a new hair product I've been using. The Hana Professional Flat Iron from Misikko is an amazing hairstyling tool!Going into this review I will admit that I figured it was just going to be an overpriced piece of equipment that was most likely going to give pretty much the same results as my $10 cheapo flat iron from Walmart.
Boy,did I get a surprise when I first used the Hana Professional flat iron!
Now,I already have straight hair but it does have some wave to it that becomes somewhat annoying at times. The Hana Professional flat iron performs so well that you would have thought I went to a salon and had my hair straightened. This styling tool is the best tool I've ever used!
Let me point out some of the features that make the Hana Professional special:

  • Adjustable Heat 140-450° F

  • Ceramic, Tourmaline
  • Safe Damp Styling
  • Floating Plates Self Adjust to Hair Texture
  • 2 Year Warranty
  • Includes Travel Pouch,Heat Proof Silicone Mat and Tin Case
  • 8 Ft. Salon Swivel Cord Type
Misikko has so many hairstyling products to offer from flat irons to accessories.Go check them out today!
